In a significant development for the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape’s Project, a bid opening was held for the rehabilitation/construction of conservation structures and Catchment Management of the Langtang Dam.
The bid opening event was attended by key stakeholders including government officials, the permanent secretaries of the Ministry of Environment Climate Change and Mineral Development and that of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Dr.Yilkudi Nengak as well as that of Water Resources and Energy, Jummai M. Adamu and representatives from various construction companies.
The Langtang Dam is a crucial Water Resource in the area and is due for rehabilitation and improved Catchment Management to ensure its long-term Sustainability and Efficiency in water conservation.
During the bid opening, several construction companies submitted their proposal for the job. The selection process according to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment Climate Change and Mineral Development, Mr Yabilsa M. Dogo will involve a thorough evaluation of the bids based on technical expertise experience and cost effectiveness.
The Project is expected to have a positive impact on the Local Community by improving Water availability for Agriculture, reducing Soil Erosion and Enhancing overall Environmental sustainability.
Earlier, the Project Coordinator Plateau State ACReSAL Project Mr. Garba Gowon Gonkol declared the bid closed.
