ACReSAL PROJECT COMMISSIONS NEW TRUCK FOR JOS WILDLIFE PARK

In a bid to bolster conservation efforts at the Jos Wildlife park, the Agro Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes project in Plateau State has commissioned a new truck to support the parks operations.

The commissioning ceremony took place amidst excitement, with key stakeholders and JWL park officials in attendance.

The newly acquired truck equipped with State of the art features and capabilities, is set to play a crucial role in enhancing the parks conservation activities.

From patrolling the park to transporting supplies and equipment, the vehicle will significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the parks operations .

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Honourable commissioner of Environment, Climate Change and Mineral Development Mr Peter Kanang Gwom, called for the proper utilisation of the vehicle and warned that the truck should not be used for school runs .

PLATEAU STATE ACReSAL project coordinator, Mr Garba Gowon Gonkol, highlighted the importance of the new vehicle in supporting the park’s conservation efforts.

He emphasised the need for collaborative efforts to protect and preserve the park’s diverse Wildlife and natural habitats.

The General manager, Plateau state tourism corporation, Mr Chuwang Pwajok, expressed gratitude to the ACReSAL project and the World Bank for their support and investment in the Park’s infrastructure.

He noted that the new vehicle would enable them to better manage and safeguard the parks resources for future generations to enjoy. As the truck embarks on its first mission within the Jos Wildlife park, excitement and optimism abound among the parks staff and citizens of the state.
