In a bid to address the concerns of project affected persons, Plateau state governor has flagged off the compensation process in Jos .
Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang Presided over the flag off which was attended by government officials, community leaders, and project affected persons.
In his address at the occasion, the Governor emphasised the importance of ensuring that those affected by development projects are adequately compensated and supported.
The compensation process will cover a range of issues including land ,displacement, loss of livelihood and other related concerns.
The governor while presenting the cheques assured the project affected persons that the government is committed to ensuring that they receive fair and just compensation for their losses. Speaking at the event a representative of the project affected persons expressed gratitude to the governor and the state government for taking proactive steps to address their grievances. Earlier in a welcome address the Hon commissioner of environment, climate change and mineral development, Mr Peter Kanang Gwom expressed appreciation to the Governor for the total support to the ACReSAL project in the state and thanked the World Bank for their development efforts.
Plateau state ACReSAL project coordinator, Mr Garba Gowon Gonkol while giving an overview of the project in the state thanked the Governor for the timely approval and release of counterpart funds for projects to be implemented. The PC appreciated the World Bank for ensuring that the project is implemented without any hindrance in the state by making funds available for development.
Representative of the National Project Coordinator of the ACReSAL project, Mrs Theresa Ajiboye commended the Plateau state governor for the release of 500million naira counterpart funds to the project
