Wase is a local government in the southern part of the State situated some 216 kilometers south-east of Jos, the state’s capital covering a landmass of 1750 square kilometers with a population of 125,000 people.

Wase was a traditional state founded in 1820; this became part of the British Royal Niger Company protectorate(later northern Nigeria) in 1898.

Two distinct languages; Jukun, Taroh.
