Plateau state commissioner of Environment, Climate Change and Mineral Development, Hon. Peter Kanang Gwom expressed appreciation to the World Bank Task Team Leader for the Agro Climatic Resilience in Semi Arid Landscapes project (ACReSAL) Dr Joy Agene for finding time to come to Jos notwithstanding her busy schedule.
The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration and discuss the progress of the project in the state.
During the courtesy visit, the TTL, Dr Joy Agene commended the efforts of the Plateau State Government in promoting Environmental sustainability and Climate Resilience .
The Commissioner highlighted the states commitment to implementing sustainable environmental policies and initiatives to mitigate the impact of climate change.
Discussions also focused on the specific interventions and strategies being implemented under the ACReSAL project in Plateau state.
Dr Joy Agene expressed confidence with the progress being made so far and reiterated the Banks support for the state’s effort in this regard.
Both parties explored opportunities for collaboration and identified areas where additional support and technical assistance could be beneficial.
The Plateau state Commissioner for Environment, Climate Change and Mineral Development, Hon Peter Kanang Gwom emphasized the importance of continued partnership with the World Bank to enhance the state’s capacity for Environmental Management and Climate change adaptation.
