Restoring Hope and Revitalizing Ecosystems at Jos Wildlife Park! 🐘🌿

“Before the coming of ACReSAL, we used to carry water in jerrycans. Now the animals are calm and the park has life again,” he says.

For years, the Jos Wildlife Park struggled with a severe shortage of water, leaving both animals and the park’s vegetation under stress. Thanks to the ACReSAL Project, the park now has solar-powered boreholes providing a reliable supply of water for the animals and human consumption.

The intervention has brought renewed life to the park, improved conditions for the animals, and provided a more sustainable solution to the long-standing water challenge.

Keepers say the animals are now calmer, and birds have returned to the park. Over 3,000 trees have also been planted to restore habitat covering 15 hectares of land.

Community members were trained by ACReSAL and are now earning income while nurturing the newly planted trees and supporting the restoration of the park’s ecosystem.

With greener surroundings and a steady supply of water, the number of visitors is rising again.

For staff, communities and visitors, ACReSAL has restored not just the park, but also a sense of hope.
